The Polar Express™ Train Ride opens for the season at Colorado Railroad Museum. Ride the historic steam locomotive pulling vintage 1880s rail cars to The North Pole! Using actors and museum trains, the magic of the popular movie will be captured and brought to life. Performances include hot chocolate, cookies, a train ride, visit with Santa and the “First Gift of Christmas.”
Saturday, 11/22, 8am – 3pm
Santa’s Cellar Craft Fair at Broomfield Community Center. Don’t miss out on the annual Santa’s Cellar Craft Fair, featuring four rooms full of local, Colorado crafters. Bring the kids to see Santa who will make an appearance in the afternoon. Stop by for holiday shopping and lunch at the new Ninth Reindeer Cafe.
Saturday, 11/22, 8:30am
City of Brighton Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk at Brighton Recreation Center. The 30th Annual Turkey Trot is a flat, fast race for runners, walkers, wheelers and strollers of every ability and age. If you’re a serious runner, the course is a speedy one and also an official BolderBOULDER qualifying race. The entry fee also includes a t-shirt, breakfast and prize raffle.
SpotLight Cherry Creek North
Saturday, 11/22, 9am
Flow n’ Joe at lululemon athletica Cherry Creek. Join lululemon every Saturday morning for complimentary yoga and coffee! Local instructors will lead you through a 60-minute flow, followed by a communal space to connect. Bring your own mat or one will be provided for you.
SpotLight Golden Triangle

Sugar Plum Bazaar Fall Show at the McNichols Building. Ready to get a jump on holiday gift shopping? The semiannual Sugar Plum Bazaar has you covered. More than doubling in size this year, the Bazaar offers more than 80 pop-up shops featuring vintage furniture, made-in-Colorado clothing and handcrafted jewelry and holiday decor. In addition to the vendors, food trucks, two cash bars and screenings of holiday films will round out the weekend.
SpotLight Castle Rock
Saturday, 11/22, 2 – 6pm
Starlighting Ceremony in Downtown Castle Rock. Presented by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, the Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event shared by residents dating back to 1935. This year’s celebration will include carriage rides, hot chocolate, nonprofit booths, live entertainment, and Santa will be present for photos and visits. 9NEWS’s Gary Shapiro will emcee the Starlighting which will be followed by a fireworks show.
SpotLight Downtown Denver
Saturday, 11/22, 8pm
Closing Night of The Starz Denver Film Festival at the Buell Theatre. The 37th Annual Starz Denver Film Festival closes tonight with a presentation of Like Sunday, Like Rain with director Frank Whaley live and in person. Regular tickets are still available, or filmgoers can opt for a dinner and movie package that includes dinner in Larimer Square and free parking.
SpotLight Capitol Hill
Sunday, 11/23, 11am – 6pm
Cowtown Comics Fest at Morey Middle School Gymnasium. Hosted by Kilgore Books, this Fest gives the best comics creators in the region a place to gather to hawk their wares and do signings. Special guest (and former Denverite) John Porcellino will be signing his new book, The Hospital Suite and a screening of a documentary about Porcellino will show following the fest.
SpotLight Commerce City
Sunday, 11/23, 1 – 3pm
Thanksgiving Market at Broken Shovels Farm. Shop Small this Sunday by visiting this Open Farm and Market. Complimentary grilled cheese and jam sandwiches and hot beverages will be doled out while you shop for Thanksgiving treats or early holiday gifts. Including the farm’s signature chèvre (goat cheese), the market will feature jams from RedCamper, truffles from Skål Farm, and home-baked goodies from Pardon My French Pastries.
