Friday, 5/29, 4 – 9:45pm;
Saturday & Sunday, 5/30 & 5/31, 9am – 4:30pm

2015 Rocky Mountain Airshow at Aurora Reservoir. Everything with wings and an engine is shown off at this weekend air show, with presentations, model rocketry, kids activities and a demonstration by the US Air Force Thunderbirds. There will be hands-on activities and drone flying, aerobatic performers, musical and dance performances, and even fireworks. Plus plenty of food vendors and exhibitors with booths to browse through.

2-RiNoSpotLight RiNo/Five Points
Friday, 5/29, 4 – 10pm

First Final Friday of the Season in the River North Art District. Denver’s largest live music summer showcase featuring live art, performances, food vendors, and urban bazaar returns for the season. Participating businesses, community arenas, and a variety of venues throughout RiNo open their doors to musicians, bands and performers to emphasize the real love of Denver—music and community. On Final Friday the River North Art District is transformed into an open-sourced marketplace atmosphere offering local food, goods, and entertainment.

SpotLight West Highland
Friday, 5/29, 7 – 10:30pm
2015 Summer Outdoor Film Series Opener: Grease at Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre. The Elitch Theatre Outdoor Summer Film Series kicks off its 2015 season with the popular musical “Grease.” The series offers family-friendly films shown on the lawn in front of the theater—just bring your own blankets and chairs, sit back and enjoy! The gates open at 7pm with live music and raffles, and the film starts at dusk. The $5 per-person suggested donation (children 6 and under are free) goes to support the restoration of the Historic Elitch Theatre.

Friday, 5/29, 8pm – 12:30am; Saturday, 5/30, 6pm – 12:30am;
and Sunday, 5/31, 5 – 11:30pm
Crom West Comedy Festival at Chain Reaction, Oriental Theater, Ratio Beerworks, The Bug Theatre, 3 Kings Tavern, Mutiny Information Cafe, Bohemian Biergarten, and The Larimer Lounge. Festival founders Ian Douglas Terry and Zach Reinertexpand their popular Omaha festival to Denver this year with a long weekend of great shows spread throughout the metro area. Highlights include the Sexpot Comedy Showcase Friday night with headliner Aparna Nancherla, “Picture This” Saturday night—where comedians are paired with animators who draw their jokes on-the-fly—and back-to-back headlining shows Sunday evening with Allen Strickland Williams and Guy Branum.

SpotLight Lakewood
Friday, 5/29, 9am – 9pm; Saturday, 5/30, 3 – 9pm;
and Sunday, 5/31, 9am – 3pm
Besterns 2015 at Rocky Mountain Roller Hockey. An old favorite returns with this three-day roller derby tournament. The Besterns tourney will include both the Denver Roller Derby and Rocky Mountain Rollergirls teams, plus the Rat City Roller Girls, Terminal City Rollergirls, Arizona Roller Derby and Wasatch Roller Derby, all of whom are ranked in the top 50 of all Women’s Flat Track Derby Association teams worldwide. After the tournament winner is decided on Sunday, there will be awards ceremony and after party at Greenfields Pool & Sports Bar.

The Lyons Outdoor Games at Bohn Park. The Lyons Outdoor Games is a premier Colorado outdoor lifestyle, adventure sport and music festival. Pop a tent Friday night with views of the foothills, and get out for a mountain bike ride on Lyons’ world-class single track in the morning. Send your kids up a climbing wall and drink craft microbrew from over 50 craft microbreweries from around the country at Burning Can as you watch world-class athletes compete in professional kayaking, dirt jumping and slacklining competitions. And then finish the day by taking in a show by The Revivalists while throwing down some awesome eats!

Saturday & Sunday, 5/30 & 5/31, 10am – 5:30pm

The Hustle and Flow Athletics and Arts Festival at La Alma Recreation Center, Youth on Record, Montbello Recreation Center, and Athletics and Beyond. Check out some of the best local high schoolers and celebrities as they go head to head in a three-on-three basketball tournament, visit sports clinics and take in a ton of live music. The festival kicks off in Lincoln Park on Saturday, then moves to Montbello Recreation Center Sunday for more of the same plus skateboarding at the skate park. Special guests of the event include F.L of The Food Chain, kid astronaut of Air Dubai and many more.

SpotLight Lincoln Park
Sunday, 5/31, 9 – 11:30am
Yoga Rocks the Park at Sunken Gardens Park. Enjoy the return of nice weather by participating in this FREE yoga class! Presented by Kindness Yoga, the class kicks off Yoga Rocks the Park’s seventh season in Denver. The popular series brings together top yoga instructors and live music and always includes a kids’ yoga offering as well. Sunday’s class will be taught by Ellen Kaye, with music by DJ SunDragon and a post-yoga workshop in Tai Chi. Participants are asked to purchase donation tickets with all proceeds benefitting Food Bank of the Rockies.

SpotLight City Park
Sunday, 5/31, 9am – 5pm

SCFD Community Free Day at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. Take advantage of a free day at the Museum by checking out the popular temporary exhibition Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns, and Mermaids. Or take in the permanent exhibits including Discovery Zone, Egyptian Mummies, and Expedition Health. You can even visit the planetarium or go to an IMAX film, although tickets for both are not included in the free admission.
